Pada 10 Agustus 2015 lalu, para astronot yang berada di Stasiun Luar Angkasa Internasional (ISS) melihat kilat merah misterius itu di atas langit Missouri, Amerika Serikat, dan El Salvador. Keduanya tertangkap hanya dalam rentang waktu tiga menit. Kilat itu kurang lebih berdiameter 100 kilometer. Biasanya, sulit untuk melihat kilat itu dengan mata telanjang. Jadi, melihat dua kilat cahaya itu secara langsung dalam waktu singkat sangat beruntung.
